new york fashion week recap

NY Fashion Week is officially over, which means NY Market is in full swing. With the D&A and Coterie Shows this week - buyers are in town, our showroom is a madhouse, and i'm working weekends, yay!

The S/S 08 collections this year were, not surprisingly, quite boring. The big names sent down the usual, predictable looks and many of the others lacked cohesion and creativity.
And even though we can't expect the NY shows to compare to Paris - I managed to find a few great looks among sooooo much ugly. And here is a recap of some fine American designin'.

Benjamin Cho (best deconstructivism)

McQ (best street-inspired sportswear)

Rodarte (most worthy of a european runway)

Marc Jacobs (best dress-up / costume collection)

Alexandre herchcovitch (best short, poofy dress)

3.1 Phillip Lim
(most wearable)

Zac Posen (best attempt at celebrating femininity)
